Queensland

Convention 2008

Ladies, while the men are enjoying each others company at the various tours and seminars that have been laid out for them, why not join me for a "girls programme"

Friday 12th September ($60)

Bus trip to Maroochydore for a "what to wear/what not to wear" session with Queensland's answer to England's Trinny and Suzzanah. Kerryn Swan, also known as the Doctor of Dress, will treat 20 ladies to the information every lady needs to understand before she goes shopping. Each lady will be analyzed for face shape (glass frames, necklines, collars, hats, jewellery shape and length), body shape (the most flattering clothing styles) and colour (how to work with your natural colouring and see with your own eyes the 50 shades of colour that are the best shades for you). Kerryn will present an informative talk and visual slide show of before and after photos of some of the ladies who have attended her make-over sessions. Colour swatches will be available for purchase on the day or can be purchased later. This session will be held at Kerryn's fabric store in Maroochydore - and if you are dress making ladies, the fabric selection will not disappoint. Kerryn's Fabric World

For lunch we will head to the Buderim Ginger Factory - sandwiches, tea and coffee - then off on a tour around the factory, in-depth taste testing and cooking tips included. After the tour we are free to roam the precinct - craft shops, plant sales - and across the road to a coffee shop where, if we are lucky they will still be roasting the beans (unfortunately no taste testing here - unless you purchase a cup of coffee in the café). Next door is the nut store - yes, tasting here and a good variety of nuts to sample and purchase.

We then hop on the bus for the trip back to Mt Gravatt Showgrounds where we will meet up with the men for an informal meet and greet session.

Saturday 13th September ($45)

Board the bus at Mt Gravatt Showgrounds and we will head to Mt Tamborine - driving through the rain forest, see the falls (I'm sure we will have had enough rain to keep them running), sample local cheeses, locally made fudge and not forgetting the wines of the area - enjoy all these tastes on Gallery Walk at Mt Tamborine. We will meet for a light lunch and then quickly see any small stores we may have missed before boarding the bus to visit the glow worm caves and then heading back to Mt Gravatt to meet our men as they finish their session at around 5pm. This will give us plenty of time to freshen up before heading out for the formal dinner. Tamborine Mountain

Sunday 14th September

While no specific programme has been arranged for Sunday - we can catch the local buses and go to the city, hop on the City Cat ferry and stop off at the Riverside markets. However, if there is interest I can soon arrange buses to take us to Melany and Montville where we can see the many craft stores for which the Glasshouse Mountains are famous.
