If you require switching for the frogs (Modified Peco Electro Frog or similar) on your turnouts, there is also a small board available - SmartFrog or you can use this board - the Super Smartfrog. This plugs into the driver board between the servo and the driver board for "short free power routing" as shown below.

The Super SmartFrog is a derived product of the SmartFrog. The new Super SmartFrog does not only keep the automatic power cut-off/supply function, it has extra signalling features to show you what is happening and also provides the new "Auto switch" function. Even if you forget to switch the turnout, with the Super SmartFrog, your locomotive will through the turnout for you. The Super SmartFrog is also designed for Reversing Loop Activation to reduce the bother of turnout control.

In the figure above, terminals A,B,C. go to the frog and the rails as shown. The 4 terminals to the left of these go to the three LEDs as shown. While the frog is in motion the Yellow LED is on. I use dead frogs so I did not need this board. In the same way, Peco Insulfrogs (though not dead) do not need this board. Once the signal to change the tunout has been sent to the driver board (from the switch, push button or decoder), the Super Smartfrog disconnects the frog until the movement is complete.
The Auto Switch Function is connected as shown below. The frog connections stay the same but now there are two short sections of track connected as shown. When the metal wheels of the loco short the section of track the servo will throw so that the train does not derail and more importantly the frog polarity changes so that there is no short at the frog. In normal operation, the servo moves at whatever speed (of the 9 speeds) has been programmed but when the auto switch function is activated the the servo moves at maximum speed.

Only metal wheels will make the "Auto switch" function. Non-metal wheels cannot enable the function. In addition, the Super SmartSwitch will automatically switch to its original turnout position if there is no touch to the trigger rail by metal wheels for 10 seconds.
